The Cameron Highlands is home to most of Malaysia’s Tea plantations, with its year round cool temperature and fertile land. It’s not just all tea though (or I’d not be that interested), it also has jungle regions, strawberry farms, honey bee farms, butterfly farms and is home to a number of Orang Asli tribes. Pretty much all visited by us in a tiring, but amazing big day out.

Ipoh and Pangkor Island

We decided to visit Pangkor island midway up the western coast, but before that a stop off in the town of Ipoh (pron: ee-poh).
Not an overly touristy place where most locals asked us why we were visiting there, Ipoh is sort of like a developed cowboy town, lots of straight streets that often seem very empty of people. The big thing to see we found was the Water Park, actually for me it was Tesco, but I’ll talk about that later. Read the rest of this entry »
